Join the team at Montana Knife Company as a CNC Programmer/Machinist and bring your expertise in machining, programming, and quality control to our dynamic and innovative company. We are seeking a highly skilled individual who has mastered CNC programming and machining and can immediately contribute to the growth of our machining operation.
Responsibilities:
- Program CNC milling machines using CAM software for 2, 3, and 4 axis toolpaths
- Design workholding and fixturing for prototypes and high-volume production
- Set up and operate CNC machines for prototyping and production part runs
- Perform quality control inspections to ensure parts meet specifications; support continuous improvement efforts for quality control standardization.
- Effectively troubleshoot, problem solve, and refine manufacturing processes to maintain and increase production efficiency.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to optimize machining processes and parts.
- Support preventative maintenance plans for CNC equipment
- Own and manage multiple prototyping and production projects
- Clear and constant communication to team on project statuses
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC machining and workholding design
- Expertise in CAM programming software such as Fusion, SolidCAM, and Mastercam
- Proficiency with 3D CAD modeling software
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings/tolerances and inspect parts for dimensional accuracy; able to consistently produce parts to spec
- Must be able to efficiently manage your time with minimal oversight while working with multiple projects and deadlines
Preferences:
- Understanding of programming using macros and subprograms
- Proficiency creating 5-axis programs
- Experience working with materials ranging from hardened tool steels to titanium and abrasive composites
- Experience with automation in a CNC machine manufacturing environment
- Expert CNC Swiss lathe skills
This is not an entry-level position. Pay will be commensurate with experience. This is a salary position that includes paid vacation, health insurance, and a 401k match.
