Introducing the MKC Traditions Knives, a special collection that brings back the classic hunting knives from my days as a custom knife maker. Each knife in this lineup features a unique desert ironwood handle, renowned for its toughness and one-of-a-kind grain patterns.

The MKC Traditions Knives showcase handles crafted from desert ironwood, a material celebrated for its hard, closed grain that repels oil, blood, and water. This ensures the handle stays clean, stable, and free from warping or cracking. We’ve outfitted three of our models – the MKC Elk Knife, the Rocker, and the Packout Skinner – with these exceptional handles, each paired with a custom sheath from Francesca at Teton Leather.

Every piece of desert ironwood is unique, just like a fingerprint, offering a variety of grain patterns from burly to straight. This means no two knives are alike, giving you a one-of-a-kind tool that is both functional and visually stunning. The ironwood's natural resilience to extreme conditions makes it perfect for hunting knives.

    The Traditions line is definately a step up from the regular line. A beautiful knife I'm proud to carry. The elk knife is as close to the perfect hunting knife as you can get. Can't wait to see what MKC comes up with next.

    Great Knife

    I really like the shape of this knife was wanting to order one but they were out of stock. then I get notified of it dropping with wood handles and a leather sheath so I was all in. super sharp right out of the box and quality craftsmanship as I expected since I have 2 other MKC knives, love the leather sheath very well made as well good match to the Elk knife.
