The Castle Rock’s three-inch blade is crafted from MagnaCut stainless steel, a cryogenically heat-treated material that delivers a rare combination of edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance, features that most steels force you to choose between.

The Castle Rock is more wear-resistant than other stainless steels, more corrosion-resistant than carbon steel, and easy to resharpen, even for owners who are new to blade maintenance. The Castle Rock’s drop point features a fine tip that’s become a hallmark of MKC’s blade design. It’s a subtle but meaningful departure from the Badrock’s clip point: less blade height, more control, and a shape that lends itself to the kind of utility work you actually do every day. The fine tip gives you precision for detail work and controlled cuts, while the drop point shape provides enough belly for general slicing.

The smallest footprint we could engineer without sacrificing secure retention.

We stripped the Castle Rock’s Kydex sheath down to the absolute minimum weight, so compact that our deep carry clip barely fits on it. That’s by design. A built-in retention screw lets you dial in the perfect blade tension, and the clip allows for deep-pocket carry or inside-the-waistband mounting.

    Castle Rock Tan and Black is subtle perfection for me!

    This knife was way out of my budget but I feel it is worth every penny. I consider myself a "lightweight" collector and light camping/prepping warrior, and my knives are usually $150 or less. Medium quality Chinese, Japanese and American made. I have been planning for an American made MKC "upgrade" since I first became aware of them in 2025, but which one? Then you dropped the Castle Rock and made my decision easy! It fills a perfect niche for my everyday carry, it is so compact and light. I have small hands and this is the perfect size and grip. It is also very sturdy, but it is easy to pocket or neck carry. And Black & Tan goes great with my favorite cold beverage!

    Excellent daily carry

    Has become one of my favorite daily carry knifes. With its smooth corners you can easily get other things out of your pocket without snagging the knife. I moved the clip and it carries nice and deep in the pocket and doesn’t hook on anything.

    My new favorite EDC

    Well, this has now taken place as my new favorite EDC.

    I have a Mini Speedgoat, but wanted something a little more robust, so I purchased the Rocker, which is a brilliant blade, and is my usual work knife. When this came out, it was a happy medium. The deep belly with the full flat grind makes this little knife razor sharp, while still having incredible functionality. The handle itself is small but not so much where it feels small in the hand. The kydex sheath is definitely on the lower profile side of things, and disappears in my pocket. I swapped the deep carry clip for an Ulticlip just because I feel like it keeps everything in place a little better. 10/10 my favorite little knife in my collection.

    Castle Rock

    I was looking for a compact fixed blade for my bino pack. I often drop my backpack but I always have my bino pack. It fits nicely in the side pocket of my bino pack as well as my jeans. The slim handle feels great in the hand and as always with MKC, super sharp. Great knife.
