The Beartooth Blade was designed and tested in conjunction with professional Alaskan bear guide Cole Kramer. This knife is purpose-built as a professional-grade knife. Its primary design is for fleshing hides. The sweeping design allows the user to take long sweeping strokes providing as much working edge as possible with little interference of a pointy tip.

Large hides can take a lot of work and a large well-designed knife can help cut that work down considerably. This blade is as thin as many pocket knives making it a knife that can be used in a repetitive motion for hours while also being incredibly easy to sharpen. Don’t let the thin blade fool you. In tests, this knife flexed 90 degrees before returning back to near straight.

PARKERIZED 52100 CARBON STEEL BLADE

The Beartooth is made from cryogenically-treated 52100 high carbon ball-bearing steel.

This achieves the perfect balance of toughness, edge-retention, and easy resharpening. The blade is also parkerized to a matte black finish which minimizes rust and glare.

FLEXIBLE, BUT DURABLE DESIGN

This blade is as thin as many pocket knives making it a knife that can be used in a repetitive motion for hours while also being incredibly easy to sharpen.

Don’t let the thin blade fool you. In tests, this knife flexed 90 degrees before returning back to near straight.

DEEP BELLY SKINNER BLADE

The Beartooth’s shape is all about balance without sacrifice. It features a pro skinners blade meant for removing hide and for being able to cover area quickly.

The large belly allows for long sweeping strokes with less punctured hides while the tip is easily accessible for non-skinning jobs.

BULLETPROOF G-10 HANDLE

The G-10 handle scales are equally as tough as the blade. G-10 is famous for being strong, durable, and stable — unmatched by any natural handle material. It won’t absorb blood and provides superior grip… even when wet and bloody.

Three hollows are cut into the handle to decrease weight and allow for maximum epoxy bonding before screws and high-strength Loctite secure the perfect fit.

EXCLUSIVE MKC OPEN CARRY SHEATH 2.0

Each Beartooth comes with a USA Made, custom MKC Kydex sheath.

The sheath features a built-in retention screw to customize blade tension and allow for handle-down carrying. The Beartooth sheath comes with a Kydex clip that allows you to carry your knife on a pack or belt loop, either horizontally or vertically.

Versatile and Slicey

I bought this thinking about venison skinning, but after reading some of the reviews and the FAQ on Carbon vs Stainless blade steels, this knife got its first use on a smoked pork butt shoulder. Easy to use, great sharpness, and is flexible enough to get some good and efficient skinning done in the fall.

Thank you for your review Miles! Good luck this season!

Love that MKC builds such a unique selection of knives

I purchased this knife for my dad to replace a Chicago Cutlery 96S that he's been using for 47 years. I was surprised to pull the beartooth out of the box and realize how light it was for the size. Fit and finish is excellent. I think the video on the website undersells this knife - I liked it so much I ordered one for myself and I'm considering packing it in for elk this year. While not a detail knife, enough tip to get you started skinning and belly for days to make quick work of the activity. Would like to see it in magnacut (only for the corrosion resistance) and wouldn't complain about a slightly thicker handle that tapers at the blade allowing for a pinched grip.

Thank you for your review Ben! We appreciate the feedback.
