Ultralight Skinner - Belly without bulk.

Hunting Guide

Multi-Generational
Guarantee

Our knife owners love the MKC Speedgoat for its combination of lightness, toughness, and versatility. While there’s very little the drop point blade design can’t do, some hunters prefer a larger blade belly for skinning purposes. You spoke. We listened. The Stoned Goat was born.

If our Stonewall Skinner and Speedgoat had a baby, this would be it.

The Stoned Goat 2.0 combines the skeletonized, paracord-wrapped handle from the Speedgoat with the trailing point blade shape from the Stonewall — resulting in a knife that reduces the risk of unwanted punctures without sacrificing versatility or ultralight portability.

This 2.0 version takes the original design a step further by incorporating an integrated finger guard and a slightly longer (⅛″), thicker skeletonized handle for improved strength and easier lanyard wrapping.

PVD Coated Carbon Steel Blade

The Stoned Goat is made from cryogenically-treated 521000 high carbon ball-bearing steel.

This achieves the perfect balance of toughness, edge-retention, and easy resharpening. The blade is also PVD coated to a matte black finish which minimizes rust and glare.

Enlarged Belly

The Stoned Goat’s blade has more edge and less tip than the Stonewall, allowing for longer sweeping strokes (and fewer punctured hides).

While the tip is less prominent, it’s still accessible for more detailed work and non-skinning jobs.

Ultralight Design - 550 Paracord Handle

After skeletonizing the tang (the steel part of the handle) to shed unnecessary ounces, we wrapped it in 550 paracord to minimize load, resulting in a total weight of 1.9 oz. The Stoned Goat’s blade is also ultra-thin, measuring just 0.095″ thick at the spine.

The paracord can fix a broken boot lace, tie down a tent, hang meat in a tree, or help in any number of unexpected, emergency situations. And when the paracord is removed from the handle, the Stoned Goat 2.0 still fits securely in its sheath.

New Finger Guard for Safety & Comfort

The Stoned Goat 2.0 now features an integrated finger guard above the paracord handle to keep fingers from sliding onto the blade in cold and wet conditions.

It also gives you additional protection and control when choking up on the blade for more intricate tasks, and creates a more secure fit into the custom Kydex sheath.

Exclusive MKC Open Carry Sheath 2.0

Each Stoned Goat 2.0 comes with a USA Made, custom MKC Kydex sheath.

The sheath features a built-in retention screw to customize blade tension and allow for handle-down carrying. The Stoned Goat sheath comes with a Kydex clip allows you to carry your knife on a pack or belt loop, either horizontally or vertically.

    Great bear skinner

I have had this knife for almost a year, but this is the first hunting season that I have used it. I am very happy with the edge retention on this knife especially with gutting and skinning my bear this fall. The blade is still sharp after caping my bear, cutting the paws and head off. I expected the blade to be significantly dulled after cutting through the cartilage and cutting against bones, but it held up very well. I am very satisfied with this knife, the only thing that I would prefer is a G10 handle instead of 550 cord. I appreciate how light the 550 cord is and how useful it could be to me, but I like the hand feel of G10 scales over 550 cord. I know that the Stoned Goat 2.0 is built to be light weight, and adding G10 handles to it would kinda defeat that purpose. At the end of the day though I love my Stoned Goat 2.0.

Thank you for five stars Luke! We're absolutely thrilled to hear how well your Stoned Goat 2.0 performed on your bear hunt this season - that's exactly the kind of real-world testing that shows what this knife is made of! The edge retention you experienced cutting through cartilage and working against bone is a testament to the quality steel and heat treatment. We totally understand your preference for G10 handles - you're spot on that it would add weight, but we appreciate the honest feedback about the hand feel. It sounds like despite that preference, the knife really delivered when it mattered most during your hunt. There's no better endorsement than a knife that stays sharp through a full bear processing! Thanks for putting the Stoned Goat 2.0 to the ultimate test!

Great blade shape and minimal weight for backpack hunters.

Much better in the hand than replaceable blade variants and great blade design for the weight. Makes this an easy addition to the kill kit for back country archery elk pursuits in the wilderness.

    Stoned Goat 2.0

Lots of folks look at these knifes as expensive. Up front that may be all you see but when you decide to try them out you will find much more. The quality is top notch. I have only had mine for a short time but I can already tell you it will be with me for a long time. It is incredible how light this thing is and the edge is like a razor. All this and made in the USA is where it’s at.

    First fixed blade

This is my first knife that isn’t culinary and isn’t a pocket knife. I’ve been spending a lot more time out in nature and it feels great to have this thing on my hip in case anything should ever go wrong. I love the way I feels in my hand so much sometimes I’ll just take it out during a hike just to admire it. Super sharp and well made! Love this company!

    Nice Knife

I really like the light weight Stoned Goat knife for my backpack hunting & fishing trips. Even the sheath is light & durable and the holds the knife very secure. I was fortunate enough to fill my tag on the archery opener here in Western Wa & I was able to gut, skin, quarter, & debone the deer with the knife without needing to sharpen the blade. I even was able to process the entire animal and the blade is still quite sharp.
