When we designed the Montana Knife Company™ Flathead Fillet Knife our goal was to create a knife that could do any possible task on the boat, next to the river or on the processing table. 

The Flathead Fillet got its name from the Flathead River, Lake, and Valley in the far northwest corner of Montana. The Flathead lake is known for being one of the largest and deepest lakes west of the Mississippi River, with some of the largest known lake trout.

The blade is designed to be flexible enough to work on your fresh catch on the side of the lake but rigid enough to help you process your elk or deer in your garage.
Black PVD Blade Coating

The Black PVD coating gives the knife a sleek finish and also has a practical purpose.

The blade is also PVD coated to a matte black finish, which makes the Flathead Fillet easy to clean and resistant to rust and wear.

Bulletproof G-10 Handle Scales

The G-10 handle scales are equally as tough as the blade. G-10 is famous for being strong, durable, and lightweight — unmatched by any natural handle material.

It can withstand any abuse without cracking or breaking, won’t absorb blood, and provides excellent grip, even when wet. The contours of the handle are also designed for comfort in extended use. The G-10 scales are attached with locally sourced titanium screws and high-strength epoxy to secure the perfect, lasting fit.
Exclusive MKC Kydex Sheath

Each Flathead Fillet comes with a USA Made, custom MKC Kydex sheath.

The sheath features a built-in retention screw to customize blade tension and allow for handle-down carrying. The Flathead Fillet sheath comes with a Kydex clip allows you to carry your knife on a pack or belt loop, either horizontally or vertically.

    Best knives on the planet.

    Without a doubt the Flathead Fillet is the best knife I have ever used. Received it just before a fishing trip to Wyoming. The guys out there all said the same thing, no other knife comes close!!! AND I was also able to snag one of the Montana folders that just happened to show up today. Needless to say, I'm speechless.... Keep up the good work guy's!!!

    Outstanding Fillet Knife

    I purchased this Flathead Fillet knife for my husband and a couple other people in the family that love to fish

    And eat their catch. The only thing I can say as I do with every knife I purchase from MKC….

    You cannot get a better knife. I truly believe that! As I tell everyone, “MONTANA KNIVES ARE THE BEST EVER”!!!!

    My favorite MKC knife

    I have all a pile of knives from MKC and this is by far my favorite, I keep it on my block and use it in the kitchen regularly. I have liked it so much that my last purchase included 2 of them for my sons.
